Places to eat during your stay at Wheatlands Lodge

We are situated in the heart of Windermere Village just away from the village centre. Our private car park allows you to park your car and walk into the village to try our many fabulous restaurants and bars. There is something for every occasion, whether you are just wondering through the village and fancy a coffee or some light lunch or you are going out in the evening for dinner. We have formal and not so formal restaurants to suit all tastes and occasions.

To help you choose and plan we have put together a list of restaurants in Windermere village. It gets busy in high season and especially weekends so booking in advance is highly recommended for special occasions. There are also some less formal restaurants that you can’t book for and these prove to be very popular with our guests. We hope this helps you plan and get the most out of your stay here in the beautiful Lakes.

Francine’s

A lovely restaurant that’s found its way into the Michelin guide. A family run restaurant with amazing food and friendly service. This is a place to book in advance as it gets very popular, perfect for a celebration meal.

The above restaurants and bars are the main selection in Windermere Village but not an exhaustive list. There is also a nice chippy and ice cream parlour as well as a speakeasy bar at the top of the Village.

We have an Indian and two Chinese restaurants as well.

If you wanted to venture a few minutes outside Windermere Village there is Bowness on Windermere. This is a busier part of the area and has a large selection of bars, pubs and restaurants.

We hope this information is useful to you in planning your stay. Remember we are here if you need us for anything further.
